In compliance with the statutes that govern the internal life of the Union of Industrial and Maquiladora Workers of Matamoros (SJOIIM), as well as the principles of democracy, transparency, and accountability, the union held its Fourth Ordinary Semiannual General Assembly at Rancho Campestre.

Participation from union delegates and representatives

Responding to the official call, union delegates, subdelegates, and their respective commissions from different shifts and workplaces attended the assembly, reaffirming the working base’s commitment to the organization’s internal governance.

Upon registration, each attendee received a written copy of the semiannual activity report, covering the period from July to December 2025.

Presentation of the semiannual report

The assembly was presided over by SJOIIM General Secretary Juan Villafuerte Morales, accompanied by the union’s Executive Committee.

During the session, the semiannual report was presented, detailing the actions, initiatives, programs, and support provided by the union’s various departments for the benefit of members and their families.

Special guests and legal validation

Special guests included First Municipal Trustee Angélica Maldonado and Senator for Tamaulipas Olga Sosa Ruiz, who witnessed the proceedings of the assembly.

In addition, Lic. Gildardo Soriano Galindo, Public Notary No. 297, formally certified the legality and validity of the activities carried out during the assembly.

Approval and institutional strengthening

SJOIIM members approved the items presented in the report, reaffirming their support for the union’s institutional leadership.

The active, informed, and responsible participation of the workforce strengthens the internal democratic life of the SJOIIM and reinforces its commitment to representation, transparency, and the defense of labor rights.
