The labor sector attended the Matamoros Second Government Report, delivered by Mayor Alberto Granados Fávila before members of the Matamoros community.
Jesús Sánchez Alvarado, SJOIIM secretary for External Affairs, attended on behalf of Juan Villafuerte Morales, secretary general of the Union of Day Laborers and Industrial and Maquiladora Workers (SJOIIM) and the Regional Federation of Matamoros Workers (FRTM). Sánchez Alvarado also represented the city’s labor sector.
Agustín Martínez Félix, president of SJOIIM’s Sports Commission, attended the event.
Municipal Report and Governor’s Attendance
Alberto Granados Fávila presented the achievements and progress from the previous year of his administration. His address covered actions related to Matamoros families and the city’s urban and economic development.
Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya attended as a special guest.
Infrastructure and Working-Class Neighborhoods
The mayor highlighted infrastructure works, repairs to collapsed sections referred to as “caídos” in the Spanish source, and projects and programs intended to benefit working-class neighborhoods.
Dialogue With Public Officials
Through their attendance, SJOIIM and FRTM reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue and collaboration with municipal, state, and national officials. Both organizations linked that relationship to actions supporting the well-being and development of workers’ families.
