The FRTM Softball League celebrated its 14th anniversary with an awards ceremony for leading teams from the previous tournament and the opening of a new season.

The event brought together 40 men’s and women’s teams as part of SJOIIM’s 94th anniversary activities.

Recognizing Teams and Participants

The officials on the stage presented awards to the championship teams. Perla Hernández, a member of SJOIIM’s Sports Commission, administered the oath to the players for the new season and thanked sponsors for supporting sports and helping keep the facilities in good condition.

Union and League Officials

Participants included Juan Villafuerte Morales, secretary general of FRTM and SJOIIM; Agustín Martínez; Perla Hernández; Magda Eloísa Ávalos, president of FRTM’s Sports Commission; and Susana Rivera, president of the FRTM Softball League.

Francisco Escobedo, league vice president; Beatriz Rivera, secretary; Vicente Insignia, treasurer; and Víctor Manuel Morales, team coordinator, attended.

Villafuerte Morales recognized the work and initiative of those who helped form and strengthen the league. He mentioned Guadalupe Rodríguez, secretary of the Graphic Arts Union; Joaquín Amaro; Magda Eloísa Ávalos; and Susana Rivera.

The ceremony ended with Magda Ávalos throwing the first pitch to Juan Villafuerte Morales.

The FRTM Softball League board continues to organize sports activities for workers and their families.
