The Union of Day Laborers and Industrial and Maquiladora Workers (SJOIIM) and the Mexican Red Cross Matamoros Delegation renewed their collaboration agreement as part of the union’s 94th anniversary activities.

The agreement aims to bring medical services, preventive programs, and training closer to SJOIIM members.

50% Discount on Medical Consultations

Members will receive a 50% discount on medical consultations at the Red Cross Lomas de San Juan Delegation. The agreement covers medical outreach events and a comprehensive mental health program.

The collaboration includes the programs “Obrero Preparado Salva Vidas,” “Cruz Roja Me Cuida,” and “La Salud Va a Tu Empresa,” as well as addiction prevention campaigns.

Services for Companies and Neighborhoods

SJOIIM Secretary General Juan Villafuerte Morales said the partnership would bring workers benefits focused on well-being, quality of life, and preventive care.

Mario Ramírez Andrade, president of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Red Cross Matamoros Delegation, said the agreement would help deliver medical services, training, and preventive programs to companies and to the neighborhoods where workers’ families live.

Participants included Sergio Villarreal, president of the union’s Education Commission; David Morales Vélez, head of the Lomas de San Juan Delegation; Armando Guajardo González, honorary witness; and Francisco Ponce, emergency services coordinator. Staff from the Mexican Red Cross Matamoros Delegation attended the event.
