Effective communication is an essential tool in any work environment, and the Union of Industrial Workers and Laborers of the Maquiladora Industry (SJOIIM), under the leadership of its General Secretary Juan Villafuerte Morales, is committed to providing its members with the necessary tools to improve their communication skills.

To this end, the union organized a seminar titled “Effective and Assertive Communication,” led by Dr. Carlos Abel Picasso Mejía, Head of Training and Productivity at the Tamaulipas Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.

Seminar Objective: Strengthening Union Communication

The primary goal of this seminar was to provide practical communication tools to members of the Executive Committee, as well as to SJOIIM’s union delegates. The training focused on improving assertive communication skills to ensure more efficient responses to any labor-related situation that may arise.

Assertive communication not only helps to solve problems more quickly and effectively but also promotes a more collaborative and productive work environment. As Dr. Carlos Abel Picasso Mejía highlighted during the seminar, “the ability to listen, express opinions clearly and respectfully, and understand others’ perspectives are key to a healthier and more efficient workplace.”
