SJOIIM Informs Delegates About Reform to Article 29 of the INFONAVIT Law

As part of its commitment to union education and the defense of labor rights, the Union of Day Laborers and Industrial Workers of the Maquiladora Industry (SJOIIM) held an informational seminar for union delegates from various maquiladoras in the city, addressing recent changes to Article 29 of the INFONAVIT Law.

Key Changes Workers Need to Know

Article 29 of this law introduces new provisions regarding the deductions applied to workers for INFONAVIT credit repayments. These adjustments, published in February of this year, take effect during the current bimester, making it urgent for delegates to be fully informed in order to communicate these changes to their coworkers.

Direct Guidance and Q&A Session

The seminar, held at the union headquarters, featured the participation of the SJOIIM’s Accounting and INFONAVIT Department, who thoroughly explained each of the new provisions, addressing questions and clarifying concerns from the attendees.

This technical session enabled delegates to understand not only the legal changes, but also how they will be reflected in payroll slips and credit repayment processes for workers.

Union Leadership and Participation

The seminar was led by SJOIIM’s Secretary of External Affairs, Jesús Sánchez Alvarado, joined by Secretary of Internal Affairs, Rosa Sauceda, and members of the INFONAVIT and Labor Commissions of the union, all of whom emphasized the importance of staying up to date and vigilant regarding the proper implementation of the law.

What Does This Reform Mean for Workers?

The adjustments to Article 29 have practical implications on how INFONAVIT loan payments are deducted, which may affect the net salary received by workers or how their payments are managed.

Therefore, the union considers it crucial for every delegate to be well-informed in order to provide timely support and guidance to the workers they represent.

Conclusion

This type of training reflects SJOIIM’s role as a proactive union, focused not only on collective agreements, but also on closely following legislative reforms that directly impact the income and well-being of its members.
