Education is key to progress, and with this in mind, KEMET de México, in collaboration with the Union of Industrial Workers and Laborers (SJOIIM), awarded 48 scholarships to its workers and their children, fulfilling the commitments outlined in their collective bargaining agreement. This initiative aims to support the continued education of its employees and offer better opportunities for their children’s future.
Supporting Education: A Joint Union and Company Commitment
The scholarship ceremony was attended by SJOIIM General Secretary, Juan Villafuerte Morales, who emphasized the importance of educational programs for the well-being and progress of union members. During his speech, Villafuerte stated, “It is very satisfying to be here awarding these scholarships, a benefit we have managed to include in our collective agreement. Since its inception, SJOIIM has promoted education for all members and their children. Education is the key to improvement, and this kind of support is essential for both personal and professional growth.”
Scholarship Distribution: Benefits for Workers and Their Families
Out of the 48 scholarships awarded, they were split between workers currently pursuing their studies and the children of union members who are also receiving support to continue their academic education. This program not only contributes to the ongoing education of employees but also helps the children of workers access better educational opportunities.
