FRTM and SJOIIM Support Municipal Project to Modernize and Streamline Business Procedures in Matamoros

The Federación Regional de Trabajadores de Matamoros (FRTM) and the SJOIIM expressed full support for the initiative led by Mayor Alberto Granados, aimed at assisting small and medium-sized businesses through the simplification, modernization, and acceleration of municipal procedures.

Active Participation from the Union

General Secretary of both the FRTM and the SJOIIM, Juan Villafuerte Morales, attended the Business Strengthening Forum, accompanied by Jesús Sánchez Alvarado, Secretary of Exterior Affairs of the SJOIIM, reaffirming the union’s commitment to participating in efforts that reinforce the economic development of the city.

Key Updates Presented

During the forum, essential progress was shared, including:

  • Implementation of a digital service platform
  • Optimization of core business procedures
  • Updates to the Civil Protection Manual
  • Improvements in land-use permits and operating licenses
  • Processes for waste management

These measures aim to build a more competitive and accessible environment for businesses in Matamoros.

The event gathered various chambers and organizations representing the local economy, including:

CANACO, CANACINTRA, CANIRAC, AMPI, CMIC, AMEXME, Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles A.C., Colegio de Ingenieros del Noreste, Hotel Association, COMECI, and the Colegio de Arquitectos Delta Bravo.

Message from the General Secretary

Juan Villafuerte Morales emphasized:

“These actions strengthen collaboration between the productive sector, the Municipal Government, and labor organizations, creating a more competitive and accessible ecosystem for the companies that generate employment in Matamoros.”

He also acknowledged the municipal administration’s efforts, including the waiver of fines and surcharges, which bring certainty and support to local businesses.
