SJOIIM and INDEX Matamoros Strengthen Cooperation Amid Global Challenges

Amid an international landscape shaped by shifts in global order, supply chain restructuring, and evolving economic policies between Mexico and the United States, the Union of Industrial and Maquiladora Workers (SJOIIM) and the Maquiladora Association of Matamoros (INDEX) held a collaborative meeting to reinforce their strategic partnership.

United to Face Current Challenges

Union leaders and representatives from companies with collective bargaining agreements emphasized the need to maintain continuous, responsible, and transparent dialogue, especially in light of labor reforms and the provisions established under the USMCA/T-MEC.

SJOIIM General Secretary Juan Villafuerte Morales and INDEX Matamoros Executive Director C.P. Roberto Mattus Rivera underscored the importance of preserving labor stability, enhancing competitiveness, and improving conditions for the workforce in the maquiladora sector.
