SJOIIM Carries Out 3rd INFONAVIT Mortgage Cancellation Ceremony
As part of the activities commemorating the 93rd anniversary of the Union of Day Laborers and Industrial Workers of the Maquiladora Industry (SJOIIM), the third delivery of INFONAVIT mortgage cancellations was held, benefiting 13 union members who now have full legal ownership of their homes.
This program is part of a national policy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum during one of her visits to Matamoros, aimed at granting legal certainty to workers who have completed their INFONAVIT loans.
Secure Property: A Right Fulfilled
The delivery event was led by Víctor López Guajardo, Head of the INFONAVIT Regional Delegation, who personally handed over the mortgage cancellation documents, officially certifying full property ownership and guaranteeing legal security for the workers and their families.
SJOIIM Participation and Recognition of Union Support
On behalf of SJOIIM General Secretary Juan Villafuerte Morales, the event was attended by Jesús Sánchez, Secretary of External Affairs, accompanied by:
- Accountant Irineo Torres, from the SJOIIM INFONAVIT Department
- Marina Rocha, Víctor Cervantes, and Carme Ramírez, members of the Labor Commission
During the event, speakers highlighted the union’s ongoing support in housing-related procedures, as well as the active collaboration with federal and regional authorities to secure these life-changing benefits for workers and their families.
Commitment and Continuity
With this third delivery, SJOIIM reaffirms its commitment to defending its members’ property rights. The mortgage cancellation policy is not only an administrative achievement but also a recognition of the hard work and dedication of those who contribute daily to the maquiladora industry’s development.
It was also announced that the program will remain active in coordination with INFONAVIT, enabling more workers to complete their payments and secure legal ownership of their homes.
Final Words
The cancellation of a mortgage marks the beginning of a new chapter for each worker and their family. Through actions like this, SJOIIM not only celebrates another year of its foundation, but also solidifies its leadership as a close, responsible, and committed organization to the well-being of its members.
Once again, the union proves that the labor movement is also about achieving personal milestones for those who form part of this great working-class family.
Congratulations to the 13 workers who received their title deeds!
SJOIIM continues moving forward—building not only labor rights but also homes with certainty and dignity.
