Grand Celebration of SJOIIM’s 93rd Anniversary with a Family Festival at Rancho Campestre

The Union of Day Laborers and Industrial Workers of the Maquiladora Industry (SJOIIM) enthusiastically concluded its 93rd anniversary with a celebration that brought together hundreds of workers and their families in a setting full of fellowship, sports, and union unity.

In the weeks leading up to the event, SJOIIM organized various sports, cultural, and social activities, led by the union’s Executive Committee, including Interior Secretary Rosa Sauceda, Exterior Secretary Jesús Sánchez, and Treasurer Jesús Caballero.

Collective Marriages: Commitment to the Family

One of the most meaningful events was the 12th Collective Marriage Campaign, organized in coordination with the Government of the State of Tamaulipas, State and Municipal DIF, the Civil Registry, the Women’s Institute, and the Health Jurisdiction, and overseen by the SJOIIM’s Organization Commission, led by Alberto Niño.

This campaign reinforces one of the union’s core values: strengthening the family and unity among its members.

Sports and Wellness for Everyone

In the sports arena, the celebration included:

  • General physical activation
  • Master zumba classes
  • Inauguration of the Inter-Factory and 7-a-side Football League
  • Boxing matches organized by the Sports Commission, led by Agustín Martínez Félix

Closing Celebration at Rancho Campestre

The Sunday closing event was truly the grand finale. Workers and their families gathered at Rancho Campestre, enjoying a day full of joy and recreational activities such as:

  • Kite-making
  • Dance contest
  • Mini soccer
  • Sports rally
  • Lucha libre wrestling
  • Boxing exhibition
  • Free use of the swimming pool area

The event was coordinated by Rosa Sauceda and Agustín Martínez, whose teams ensured everything went perfectly.

Words of Gratitude and Union Pride

On behalf of SJOIIM Secretary General Juan Villafuerte Morales, Exterior Secretary Jesús Sánchez Alvarado thanked the attending workers and their families.

The workers in attendance agreed that SJOIIM, with its 93-year history, continues to prove it is one of the best unions in the country, and they expressed gratitude that the celebration included activities focused on the comprehensive well-being of members and their families.

Special Guests and Gift Raffle

The event also featured CANACO President Abraham Rodríguez Padrón, along with service collaborators who maintain current agreements with the union and joined the celebration of unity.

The day concluded with a gift raffle, hosted by members of the SJOIIM Executive Committee, creating a joyful and emotional closing moment.
